Sister Maureen Ulatowski – 60 Years of Teaching, 80 Years of Grace

In 2025, we celebrate not one, but two remarkable milestones for Sister Maureen Ulatowski: 60 years of dedicated teaching and her 80th birthday.

Sister Maureen began her lifelong journey in service and education at just 18 years old, entering religious life with the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1963. Since then, her impact has rippled across generations of students, families, and communities.

Her teaching career spanned every grade from Pre-K through 8th and has included both general education and special education. For the past 21 years, she has been a cherished educator at St. Catherine’s Special Needs Center in Fairfield, bringing gentle strength and deep compassion to her students. She also holds a master’s in special education from Hofstra University, a testament to her lifelong commitment to excellence in education.

Before her teaching career began, Sister Maureen worked in the dietary department at St. Vincent’s Hospital, her hometown of Bridgeport has always been close to her heart. One of her most treasured memories was traveling to Rome for spiritual renewal, where she met Pope John Paul II, an experience that deepened her faith and further affirmed her calling.

Known throughout 3030 Park for her joyful energy, warm smile, and Mets fandom, Sister Maureen is not only a beloved resident but also a spiritual presence and source of comfort for others.

She often calls 3030 Park her second family, and we wholeheartedly feel the same.

Happy 60th anniversary in education and happy 80th birthday, Sister Maureen. Your life of service continues to inspire us all.
