For 27 years, Lisa Ford has poured her heart into East Hill, becoming not just a valued team member but a symbol of the dedication and compassion that define our community. As a leader in Memory Care, Lisa’s work has impacted countless lives, so much so that she was honored with the national Dementia Practitioner Award and featured on a billboard in the heart of Times Square.
Lisa’s journey at East Hill began with a passion for helping others. Over time, her coworkers became like family, and the residents became an extension of her heart. “East Hill is more than a job to me, it’s a part of who I am,” she says. “Working with individuals living with dementia is incredibly meaningful. It teaches you to be present, patient, and compassionate. Each day is a chance to bring someone peace, joy, and a sense of connection.”
Her philosophy of care reflects the very spirit of East Hill, meeting residents where they are, creating comfort in the present moment, and tailoring support to the uniqueness of each person. Lisa finds joy in the little moments: a shared laugh, a gentle reassurance, a spark of recognition. These, she says, are what make the work deeply fulfilling.
“Every resident has a story to tell, even when words are no longer easy to find,” Lisa shares. “My goal is to help them feel seen, safe, and loved.”
Lisa is a shining example of the East Hill promise: hospitality with heart, and a commitment to making every day meaningful for residents and their families.
